The Model 122 Snow Fence Bracket is cast in solid bronze for lifetime durability. The castings are mounted on a solid brass plate, typically 6" x 16", with pre drilled holes for easy installation. Custom base plate sizes are available. The bracket assembly is set up to accommodate two 1/2" red brass pipes, (1/8" wall, .080" OD) Brackets are adjustable to the roof pitch.
Uses, Application: Typically installed along the perimeter of any roof surface where the sudden and unexpected falling of ice or snow can become a hazard. The Model #122 is used for moderate snow loads, and can be mounted to most any roof surface. When used in combination with individual field array snow guards, it offers the highest degree of snow slide protection.
Materials: Bracket is solid cast bronze with the base plate riveted to the base plate with solid copper rivets. The base plate is 0.90" brass plate (260), and fastener holes are punched and countersunk for easy installation. Bolts to hold the castings together are solid brass.
Installation: Install snow fence bracket parallel to, and approximately 24" to 36" from the eaves. The brackets should be spaced from 18" to no more than 42" apart, depending upon the pitch of the roof and the anticipated snow load. Recommended installation method is to use through bolts, with a backer plate on the underside of the roof deck. The use of bronze, brass, or stainless steel pipe is recommended. Copper water pipe should not be used.
In high snow load situations, use the Model FR 132 , three pipe system, or supplement the Model FR 122 with individual field array guards.
As always, our technical services can provide a layout recommendation upon receipt of a roof plan, showing rafter lengths and necessary elevations for roof pitch.
